Lead Team Governance
POLICY GOVERNANCE
Level 1 Governance -- The Constitution
- The congregation gives definition to its major principles
and places limits on itself.
- Changes at this level take 12 months advance notice.
Level 2 Governance -- The Bylaws of the Constitution
- The congregation gives definition and places limits
on the Lead Team, Pastors, and Ministry Teams.
- Changes at this level take 90 days of advance notice.
Level 3 Governance -- Working Guidelines
- These operating guidelines are used by the Lead Team
to oversee the work of the Staff and the Ministry Teams
in four areas:
- The Ends -- Every ministry team develops their goals
and objectives based upon the ends (vision) of FPCC.
- Connect to God
- Connect to One Another
- Connect to the World
- The Limitations that are placed upon Staff &
Ministry Teams for proper accountability. For example:
- Proper treatment of those participating in ministry
by Staff and Ministry Teams
- Proper treatment of Paid and Volunteer Staff
by Staff and Ministry Teams
- Proper Financial Planning and Budgeting by Staff
and Ministry Teams
- Protection of the assets of church by Staff
and Ministry Teams
- Proper communication and support between Staff
and Ministry Teams and the Lead Team
- The Governance Process for the Lead Team
- Governing style
- Lead Team Job Descriptions
- Lead Team Code of Conduct
- Lead Team Oversight of Staff and Ministry Teams
- Working together in unity
- Accountability of the Staff and Ministry Teams
- Delegation to the Staff and Ministry Teams
- Monitoring Staff and Ministry Team performance
- Reporting frequency of Staff and Ministry Teams
Level 4 Governance -- Procedural Policies
- These are operating policies and procedures that already
exist at FPCC. New ones will be written by the Ministry
Teams as needed and affirmed by the Lead Team.
- ALL policies and objectives are focused on the Vision
Statement of FPCC.
MINISTRY TEAMS
The mission of each Ministry Team is to
manage their specific area of ministry. Under the broad
authority of the congregation and the Lead Team, each ministry
team will have the responsibility and the authority to administer
their area of ministry and to develop appropriate policies,
programs and events. Ministry Teams are encouraged to look
toward the future as well as draw upon traditions and procedures
from our past.
Children Ministry Team
Leader: Pastor Shelly Kurth
This team will administer and lead all ministries for
children infant to fourth grade.
Youth Ministry Team
Leader: Pastor Brian Nanninga
This team will administer and lead all ministries for
students fifth through twelfth grade.
Congregational Care Ministry Team
Leader: Pastor Paul Bengtson
This team will oversee a number of Adult ministries of
FPCC.
Fellowship & Hospitality Ministry Team
Leader: Available
This team will be the "happening" ministry
team; they will build a sense of community.
Properties Ministry Team
Leader: Available
This team is a hands-on ministry in care for our properties
and buildings.
Stewardship & Finance Ministry Team
Leader: Financial Officer/Treasurer
This team will work in conjunction with the church treasurer
for accountability and management of our funds.
Outreach & Evangelism Ministry Team
Leader: Stuart Peterson
This team is the link to "outsiders" and reaching
people for Christ.
Missions Ministry Team
Leader: Available
This team will help us care for missionaries and keep
issues related to world mission in our minds and hearts.
Worship & Music Ministry Team
Leader: Pastor Chris White
This team will focus on developing meaningful worship
opportunities.
